Champion of the Chesapeake: William Warner, RIP

The Original Cover of “Beautiful Swimmers”

William W. Warner, the poet-laureate of the Chesapeake Bay, died in 2008  at age 88. In his classic book, “Beautiful Swimmers,” he described the bay better than anyone else in print.
